THE FINISHED TABLES!!!

Congratulations to everyone who participated in ArtSpace this semester. The students successfully completed the picnic table project and the tables turned out looking great! To celebrate the students had a pizza party, played some games, and made christmas cards. We are looking forward to another great semester and hope to see everyone return in the spring.

Here is a look at the final product...

Tables are looking Great!

The students are putting the finishing touches on the tables as they are both beginning to look great! Both the 'Games' table and the 'Landscape' table are almost finished. The students are also going to make checkers and X & O pieces for use on the "Games' table.

Since the students are working in teams as they paint, the rest of the students work on a comic book strip using their faces as characters in the story.

Let's Paint the Tables!

The students beginning the process of painting the tables. Part of the challenge will be creating the two tables purely from the three primary colors of RED, YELLOW and BLUE. As the students paint they create their own colors by mixing the three primary colors together. The tables are beginning to look great and very colorful!

Since the students are working in shifts painting the tables, they have also been working on a couple ofther activities...

...keeping the idea of expression through painting, the students also expressed themselves through...FACEPAINT!

The class also worked on a banner to showcase in the school's hallway

Picnic Table Project (Design Day)

The students decided for the semester project to paint two of the picnic tables in the Habitat Space to bring some color and fun to the space. The students first decided on two different themes for each of the tables. The first one is going to be a "Games" table that will feature a checkers board, tic tac toe spaces and a mural in the middle. The second table will be a "Landscape" table featuring both a sea scape and a jungle. The students are currently coming up with designs for the project and painting a base coat on the tables.
