Picnic Table Project (Design Day)

The students decided for the semester project to paint two of the picnic tables in the Habitat Space to bring some color and fun to the space. The students first decided on two different themes for each of the tables. The first one is going to be a "Games" table that will feature a checkers board, tic tac toe spaces and a mural in the middle. The second table will be a "Landscape" table featuring both a sea scape and a jungle. The students are currently coming up with designs for the project and painting a base coat on the tables.

Welcome to ArtSpace Fall 09

Welcome Students!!!

Welcome all to ArtSpace as we look forward to a great rest of the semester. We have some great projects lined up as well as one big project which will be solely designed and created by the students. So students put your creative thinking caps on and get ready for a fun and great semester!

FINISHED WALL....

The students finished the wall last week and the letters look great.....

Getting the students to think of their "firsts" using watercolors. Helping them to think about how their story will be told on the wall. First day of school at longview, first toys, first pets, ect....

LONGVIEW outline ...

TUESDAY - Students spaced and created the letters of LONGVIEW in chalk. They used their own bodies to space out the letters along the wall and took turns stepping away from the wall, evaluating where the letters should be placed as well as the determining the correct height of the letters.

THURSDAY - Students created the final outline of the letters in black paint. At this point they had the chance to visualize the scale they will be working at....
